Barry Frost - Head Teacher
Incidentally, I am also currently a member of Northumberland Local Safeguarding Children Board, and Nunnykirk Parish Council.
Well, I've only been here as Head teacher since Sept 2015, and in that short time I've just been so proud of every member of our community, whether students, parents, staff, governors or others we work with. Nunnykirk is a very special place with a heart of gold.
Feedback from parents has been extremely encouraging, with comments like 'understanding of xxx's needs', 'nurturing', 'high expectations', 'bringing x out of their shell', 'caring for our children's needs', 'taking an interest in them as individuals', and 'welcoming and approachable'.
Coming up in 2016 and beyond we have, amongst many development, our new curriculum offer - "Curriculum 2017", a new leadership and management structure, and extended boarding provision. We will be maintaining our Dyslexia specialism, while also developing associated needs, such as mild-ASD. We are also developing a new relationship with our wider community.
All this and more is part of our vision to be a Centre of Excellence in 2017 - Nunnykirk's Ruby Anniversary year!
