Andrew Hooton - Teacher
I’ve been reaching Science for 15 years, 10 of them at Nunnykirk. Prior to that I worked for the local Wildlife Trust in Otter Conservation and Urban Wildlife Projects. I also teach IT and PE/Games and have tutored Mathematics up to GCSE.
I am a father of 7, one of the eldest of whom is dyslexic.
I love outdoor pursuits and am a keen kayaker, surfer, climber, hill walker and mountain biker; I hold coaching qualifications in climbing, kayaking and mountain biking. All are activities that I’ve run at school with the pupils over the years, in addition to taking pupils sailing.
In rare, quieter moments, I’ve been known to pick up the guitar.
